Wordless Wednesday: Escape from Camp Wahi

Ten-year-old Susan plots her escape from Girl Scout Camp in the summer of 1961. She's been writing her way out of boring situations ever since.

P.S. Come back on Friday for a link to my guest post over at Jane Friedman's Writer's Digest blog, "There Are No Rules." (LOVE that title!) Better yet--SIGN UP to receive email reminders from me and Jane when either of us puts up a new post, and you won't have to keep checking back:-)

Alex, what do you mean, "Okay, I give up"? Do you mean you can't tell which one is me in the picture? (The one standing alone, playing with the tree branch, day-dreaming and ignoring the camp counselor:-) Or???

Very interesting!! Just happened to see page when I googled Camp Wahi. I was a counselor there in '59 and '60 and recognize the counselor Margaret in the picture. Would love to read the essay.
