It’s official—the 2009 Yoknapatawpha Summer Writers’ Workshop at the University of Mississippi in Oxford will be held June 5-7. The workshop is for anyone writing in fiction or nonfiction, and participants submit up to 12 pages to be critiqued during the weekend. In addition to critique sessions, there are amazing craft talks, panel discussions, open mic and lots of fun times at meals and happy hour!

Rebecca Jernigan—returns again this year with her storytelling talents. (right, with Wendy on guitar)

New to this year’s faculty are:
Ace Atkinsmystery novelist, who lives outside Oxford with his family, (left) and

Bess Reed Currence—former literary agent (she was also an editor at The Oxford American) will be on hand to talk about the publishing end of the writing business. (sorry, couldn't find a picture of Bess)

All of this and more can be found here.
I’ve already registered, here.

This will be my third time to participate in the Yoknapatawpha Writers Workshop. You can read about last year’s workshop and see lots of pictures here.

They only accept about 15-16 participants, so register early!
